Late night food acquired on a walk around the small town of Olympos at 4am. It was a small shop front only serving one thing… Kebabs. I had a few mouthfuls of this deliciously over seasoned meat however didn’t go the full kebab as it was a bit stringy and I couldn’t place the grey meat. Needless to say the mates I was with devoured what in hindsight was an offal kebab.
This is what happens when you can’t read Turkish. With a little help from google I now know Kokoreç is a dish of the Balkans and Anatolia consisting mainly of lamb or goat intestines…
And icky as it sounds it was tasty.
